Fort De Soto Park - Pinellas County, Florida
Easily accessible by car from St. Petersburg, Florida, Fort De Soto Park preserves fortifications built by the U.S. Army to
protect Tampa from enemy attack at the time of the Spanish-American War. Visitors can explore the preserved battery and
see some of the rarest artillery in the United States. The park also features nature trails, boat ramps, picnicking, camping
and one of America's top beaches.
